Free shipping from China can make the wheelset price easier to understand, but import duties and local taxes are separate. Buyers should know that before checkout.
Shipping cost and import cost are different
Free shipping means the store is offering shipping as part of the purchase. It does not automatically mean your country will not charge VAT, import duty, brokerage fees, handling fees, or other local taxes.
Those charges depend on destination rules. They may be collected by the carrier, customs office, payment provider, or local authority. The store may not control them.
Why charges vary by country
Different countries classify bicycle parts differently and use different thresholds, tax rates, and collection methods. Two buyers can order a similar wheelset and have different customs experiences because they live in different places.
This is why the safest assumption is that local charges may apply unless checkout or local law clearly says otherwise.

Tracking can pause during customs
International tracking is not always smooth. A package may show export, then stay quiet while it waits for customs or local courier transfer. That does not always mean the package is lost.
If customs or the carrier asks for information, respond promptly. Keep your order details and tracking number available.
How to estimate total value
Look beyond the $299 product price. Consider possible duties, taxes, brake pads, installation, and any small setup parts. If the total still makes sense for your bike, the value offer is doing its job.
If duties would make the purchase too close to a local option, factor that in before buying. A good deal should still feel good after realistic costs are included.
When to contact support
Contact support if tracking has not updated for a long time, if the carrier requests order information you do not understand, or if the package arrives damaged after customs handling. Include your order number and tracking link.
