When to Contact Us Before Buying a Wheelset

Some wheel orders are simple. If your bike is a standard rim brake road bike, your cassette type is confirmed, and your tire clearance is known, you may be ready to order directly. But there are situations where one message before checkout can prevent a wrong freehub, a poor rim depth choice, or a return problem.
Contact us first if the freehub is unclear
This is the most common reason to ask. If you do not know whether your cassette needs Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, Campagnolo, or another option, send your drivetrain brand and a clear photo of the cassette. The compatibility guide can help, but photos often make the answer faster.
Do not guess based only on the bike brand. Bikes are often upgraded over time, and the cassette currently on the bike matters more than the original catalog spec.
Ask if the bike is older or unusual
Rim brake road bikes have been made in many shapes over many years. Some older frames have tighter tire clearance, different brake reach, or less room around the caliper. That does not automatically mean a carbon wheelset will not work. It does mean fit should be checked before the box ships.

- Bike brand, model, and year if known.
- Brake type and a photo of the brake caliper.
- Drivetrain brand and number of cassette speeds.
- Current tire size printed on the sidewall.
- The wheelset or rim depth you are considering.

A useful pre-order message includes bike model, current tire size, cassette photo, brake photos, preferred rim depth, rider use, and shipping country. If the route is windy, mountainous, or wet, mention that too because it can affect depth choice and braking expectations.
Do not wait until after installation
If you are unsure, ask before mounting tires or transferring the cassette. Support can help most when the wheelset is still clean and the order has not become a return or compatibility problem.
